The aim: To give children a future.
The HANSA NIWAS FOUNDATION is building homes for these children in Trichy. They will accommodate at least 300 children girls and boys. A home which is not just a roof above their heads, but which provides also the feeling of being recognised and loved, a feeling which is vital for every human being. The children should have the experience of being embedded in a big family providing warmth and happiness and learn to enjoy life again.
There also will be a school offering education for the orphans and up to 700 children from the cast of the untouchables. Only by means of education a break through the vicious circle of poverty and lack of oppor-tunities is possible. The emphasis will be in the foste-ring of all creative skills and the children will be sup-ported in developing their own talents. At the same time, they will learn to take on responsibility for themselves and others.
The project.
Hans-Martin Schempp began buying land for the project back in 2006. There are now 58 acres avail-able, around 24 hectares. The buildings are under con-struction and the first orphans should be able to move into their new home by autumn 2011.
The adjacent farmland once working to full capacity should be able to provide for up to 1000 children and staff. It will also provide work for the poor people in the surrounding villages. 25 cows and calves are grazing the area at present, fertilising the land, ready to provide for the future demand in milk and dairy products.
The farm is run on a dynamic organic basis. Environ-mental requirements are fulfilled, for example by

means of organic waste water treatment and reuse within the farm. Wherever possible renewable energies will be used. Therefore solar power is to run the water pumps irrigating the fields. On an average only two weeks of rain per year can be expected in Tamil Nadu.
The farmers will be thoroughly trained to learn how ecology works and what benefits result from production methods which are kind to nature, the environment and people. This will make HANSA NIWAS a role model
in the region and far beyond.
Financing of the project.
Hans-Martin Schempp is covering construction costs of around 3,5 million US dollars.
However, revenue is needed to cover the running costs and secure the project. A production company favourably in the field of renewable energies should make a significant contribution here. For that purpose
a joint-venture partner is urgently needed.
At the same time sponsors are most welcome who are willing to donate e.g. photovoltaic systems for the HANSA NIWAS Project.

also in form of sponsoring an orphan
on a monthly basis e.g.
